~ Ravensara Aromatica ~
Once unique to Madagascar, Ravensara is now found throughout the Mediterranean countries. The tree's bark is dark and pungent and its evergreen leaves are shiny. Its flowers and seeds are used medicinally and as a spice in cooking.
Uses:
Valued for its properties, and its effectiveness against a range of problems. It is a mood-elevator, stimulating for depressive or lethargic emotional states.
Directions:
Use in oil burner: add a few drops to water. Mix with water for use as hydrosol.
Botanical Name:
Ravensara aromatica Ravensara is a Latin-ized version of the Malagasy word Ravintsara, which means leaves that are good for you.
Oil Characteristics:
The oil has a thin to medium consistency, is clear in color, and smells like a more delicate version of Eucalyptus or Rosemary. The aroma is slightly sweet and Ravensara is a top note in perfumery.
